Kecapi, 'Hidden Treasures'

The kecapi is a singular Balinese instrument, much like a zither, often lending its melodic sorcery to religious ensembles. This example is crafted from mahogany and plywood, as creative and sonorous design extracts perfected tones from the steel strings. The sound box includes a small compartment to store the key, used to expertly tune the strings. A wonderful instrument for the lover of world music.
